From our space to their place
Community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we take our work beyond our venues and directly into local neighbourhoods, meeting people where they are to build stronger, more active communities across the district.
We also open our doors to diverse communities, creating inclusive spaces where people can connect, feel a sense of belonging, and take part in positive, shared experiences.
Coffee & climb
A weekly morning session where we team up with local tattoo artist Tim for the community to come climb together, meet new people, and enjoy a coffee afterwards. A relaxed way to discover climbing and build community.
KRAN Climb art
We hosted an event led by People United, opening our climbing gym to the KRAN community free of charge.
We welcomed over 100 people through our doors and were proud to showcase a poem written by a KRAN member, brought to life through design by Hannah Grace Whittaker.

Lift the curfew
We hosted a free evening running event aimed at encouraging more women to get out and keep running during the darker months.
Working alongside Folkestone Running and Athletics Club, the session was friendly & supportive, with plenty of practical safety tips shared to help build confidence when running after dark. It was a great opportunity to bring people together, get moving, and support each other to stay active all year round.
Coastal cruisers
Every Friday throughout the summer holidays, we run free coached drop-in sessions at Folkestone Harbour, giving local children the chance to try skateboarding in a fun, welcoming environment.Â
Folkestone Sculling Academy
Based at Folkestone Sea Sports, Folkestone Sculling Academy is Kent’s first British Rowing Coastal Sculling Academy. The academy provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the thrill of coastal rowing, develop new skills, and enjoy the benefits of being active on the water in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Kick About
This project provides children with free access to the 3Gs during school holidays, including a complimentary drink. A welcoming space for children – keeping them moving and off the streets in safe environment.
Boxing Club
Based in F51, Folkestone ABC has been an active part of the local community since 1970. As a registered charity, the club uses boxing to teach discipline and respect – lessons that members carry into all aspects of their lives.
Folkestone Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Based at F51, Folkestone Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu delivers structured sessions for both children and adults, introducing participants to the practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
The club emphasises practical self-defence skills while fostering confidence, discipline, and physical fitness.
Home Education
F51 hosts Home Ed sessions got children to skate and connect with others in a vibrant, inclusive environment. While the children skate, adults can get involved, connect with other home educating families and exchange resources – creating valuable opportunities for both children and parents to learn and grow together.
Baton of Hope
The Baton of Hope project, hosted at F51 in partnership with Folkestone & Hythe Council, Team Sports Trust, and Kent County Council, is a community initiative focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
The project uses physical activity as a way to promote positive mental and physical wellbeing, bringing people together in a supportive environment.
