Changing lives, one movement at a time

The Sports Trust is a not-for-profit charity working to remove barriers to sports participation. We believe sport is a powerful tool for bringing people together and creating positive change in our communities.

We create inclusive, judgement-free and accessible experiences where everyone feels they belong. Our aim is to challenge the idea that sport “isn’t for you” because of your circumstances – because it should be for everyone.

By identifying gaps in local sporting provision, we create opportunities for people who need them most. We provide the support, resources and clear pathways that help individuals take part, regardless of background or circumstance.

The problem we're addressing

Folkestone and Hythe has a significantly lower proportion of active adults, with 54% of people of all ages in a lower socio-economic group reported lower levels of physical activity and 51% of children are not meeting the recommended average of 60 minutes of exercise per day.

That’s why our work is so important. By providing accessible, inclusive opportunities to get active, we’re helping to tackle these gaps head-on giving people the support, resources, and pathways they need to move more.
